Features

Everything a 1099 contractor needs. Nothing you don't.

MileTracker is a focused mileage app — not a bloated expense suite. It does one job, and it does it without you thinking about it.

Automatic trip detection

Drive normally. MileTracker uses iOS background location to detect every trip, start to finish — no buttons, no widgets, no Bluetooth beacons.

One-tap classification

Swipe through the unclassified trip stack on your dashboard. Business or personal in a single tap — done in under a minute a day.

IRS-ready PDF exports

Generate a clean, audit-ready PDF mileage log with date, route, purpose, and IRS standard rate totals — exactly what your CPA wants to see.

CSV exports for any tool

Export your trips as a CSV for QuickBooks, FreshBooks, your accountant, or your own spreadsheet workflow.

Maps, notes, and purpose

Every trip has a polyline map view, editable purpose, notes, and full distance breakdown. Tap delete to remove anything that isn't business or personal.

Multiple vehicles

Track mileage across your truck, your work car, and your personal vehicle. Pro unlocks unlimited automatic trips and multi-vehicle reporting.

How it works

Set it up once. Forget about it until tax time.

  1. 01

    Install and grant 'Always' location

Sign in with Apple in seconds. Grant 'Always' location access so iOS can wake MileTracker for trip detection — no draining your battery in the foreground.

  2. 02

    Drive normally

MileTracker quietly logs every trip in the background. Stops, starts, and routes are stored locally in SQLite first, then synced to the cloud when you're online.

  3. 03

    Classify in a tap

Open the app once a day. Swipe through the unclassified stack and tap business or personal. Add a purpose if you want to.

  4. 04

    Export at tax time

Generate an IRS-ready PDF or CSV of your business mileage. Send it to your CPA or attach it to your Schedule C.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How does MileTracker detect trips automatically?
MileTracker uses Apple's background location APIs to detect when you start and stop driving. Trips are recorded with start/end times, distance, and a route polyline. There's no manual start button required.
Will MileTracker drain my battery?
No. MileTracker uses Apple's significant location change and motion APIs, which are designed to run efficiently in the background. Most users see less than 1–2% of daily battery usage attributed to MileTracker.
Does it work offline?
Yes. MileTracker is SQLite-first — every trip is saved locally on your device before being opportunistically synced to Supabase when you have a connection. You can drive in dead zones and your trips will still be there.
Is the IRS mileage report audit-ready?
Yes. The PDF export includes the date, start/end addresses, distance, business purpose, and total deduction at the current IRS standard mileage rate — meeting the IRS substantiation requirements for vehicle deductions.
What does Pro include?
MileTracker Pro unlocks unlimited automatic trips, IRS-ready PDF exports, CSV exports, and multiple vehicles. It's a single in-app subscription managed through Apple via RevenueCat.
Is my location data private?
Your trips are stored locally on your device first. Cloud sync uses a per-user Supabase row that only you can read. We never sell location data, and we never share it with advertisers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Is MileTracker an alternative to MileIQ, Stride, or Everlance?
Yes. MileTracker is built specifically for solo 1099 contractors who want fast classification, clean IRS exports, and a UI that doesn't get in the way. It's a focused alternative to MileIQ, Stride, Everlance, and TripLog.
